Curriculum Intent
Key Stage 3
The curriculum is aimed at developing students’ creativity and computational thinking skills, which would necessitate their survival in the rapidly evolving digital world.
Our key stage 3 curriculum has been designed to ensure learners develop the essential concept of computing, such as of information, communication, and technology skills, and how they can use these, responsibly, safely, and respectfully. Learners will explore the use of Microsoft and other applications, and basic understanding of computer software and hardware systems. The curriculum seeks to ignite a passion for computational problem-solving, so learners will develop their programming skills to build software applications for solving real-world problems.
The intent of this key stage 3 curriculum, allows learners to explore, discover and present information independently, and prepare them to have a choice of what key stage 4 offers.
