Curriculum intent 

Much of the information we gain of the world around us is communicated through the mass media, in a language that can subtly deceptive. Media Studies offers an opportunity for students to step back and consider how this information is being constructed and understand how it positions them to view both the world around them and themselves. We aim to empower our students to begin questioning these representations and the aims of the powers behind them, ultimately giving them the skills and the confidence to not only understand the messages they receive but to also construct their own, giving them voice to express themselves in the digital age they are growing up in.
