History

Curriculum Intent

History is the world's memory. Our History Curriculum empowers learners to develop their own opinions based on and having analysed historical evidence and interpretation. Our students explore and challenge the lessons which the past provides and journey through history in order to develop their ability to assess causation, consequence, change, continuity, similarity and difference through time, as well as attribute significance to events. By studying history, our students are able to explore how the history of the world, the nation and Milton Keynes relate to the present, empowering them to interact with history as a discipline within their own lives. Students become experts at making informed decisions when opportunities and challenges arise in their own lives and can understand how different views are constructed as well as handle a range of sources with care.
