In Child Development, we explore the key characteristics of early childhood growth and development from birth to five years across the developmental areas. You will be able to develop knowledge, understanding and technical skills by planning, developing, and adapting play opportunities suitable for young children across the five areas of development as part of their Key Stage 4 learning. Our knowledge-rich curriculum will support your understanding of the developmental norms of children from birth to five years, as well as the stages and benefits of play. Our teaching and learning will ensure you gain a real insight into all the challenges, excitement, considerations, and responsibility surrounding children’s development and the number of agencies and people involved in caring for that development. This course aims to challenge you to investigate the equipment needed for babies, toddlers, and preschool children up to five. The Child Development course encourages multiple approaches to learning, such as practical opportunities and real-life scenarios, which will support you to develop your applied knowledge and practical skills.
