What is the Local Offer?
The Local Offer was first introduced in the Green Paper (March 2011) “as a local offer of all services available to support disabled children and children with SEND and their families. This easy to understand information will set out what is normally available in schools to help children with lower-level SEN as well as the options to support families who need additional help to care for their child.”
What will it do?
With regard to Education, The Hazeley Academy intends the Local Offer to let parents/carers and young people know how the Academy will support them and the provision that is available across local settings.
14 questions have been devised, in consultation with parents/carers and other agencies which reflect their concerns and interests.
The responses to these questions are intended to provide information to parents and carers so that they feel confident about how their child’s needs are met within the Academy or to enable them to make informed decisions about the type of provision that would support their child’s needs.
